The first post on this blog was written in 2010. That feels like a lifetime ago! The last post was written in 2019… so about that. I had a couple of kids, moved house, and changed jobs… the last four years have been a whole thing.

That being said, the baby is getting to be not so babyish. The toddler is entertaining herself while her sister naps. And the story I plotted out during the 2020 lockdown is calling to me.

So I’m here to say that I am trying NaNoWriMo! The last year I “won” was 2013. This month I’m teaching undergraduate composition, my daughter is turning four, I’ve also decided to try running a 5k, and we’re going to be out of town for the second half of the month. What could go wrong? Hehe.

Also, it appears that a couple of online journals that published my work in the past have closed down since COVID-19. In light of this, my short story “Kleptomania” and essay “There Are No Buffalo Here” are now available to read on the site. Click the links above, or go to the Portfolio page. Enjoy!
